Finishing IVth form college, I knew one thing – I wasn’t going straight into Higher Education.
I took a leap of faith, moving to Uganda at 18 years old to work in a Primary, in a small town called Kitega, a couple of hours from the capital city of Kampala; and boy was it the right decision!
From learning to live in small confines with other, improving my cultural sensitivity and having a real job, to travelling independently across Uganda, as far East as Kenya, down to Rwanda, helped to shape an awkward teen into a well rounded student ready to tackle Design at University.
These blogs are presented as written, from the perspective of an 18 year old – and may not meet the standards of today’s cultural sensitivity.
Check out my old blog site, all about Uganda here!
